mouse

an input device used to control the position of a pointer on the screen by detecting relative movement of the device. The typical design uses a ball in the bottom of the mouse that rolls as the mouse is moved along a surface, and detectors translate this movement into horizontal and vertical vectors that are translated to the machine to specify movement of the pointer. Many implementations will also move the pointer a greater distance when the mouse is moved more quickly.

Both “mice” and “mouses” are acceptable as the plural of “mouse”, though “mice” appears to be far more common.
