Qualifications:
- Two to four years of experience coordinating projects and balancing multiple priorities across a variety of groups or departments.
- Two to four years of experience that includes activities related to one or more of the following: technical communication, web design, user research, human computer interaction, quality assurance. Experience gathering and communicating web site and/or software application requirements.
- Preferred but not mandatory: Formal project management certification and/or experience. Technical experience as a webmaster or software developer. One to three years of experience in user research/usability practices such as usability testing. Experience creating prototypes and writing use cases.
- Minimum: Bachelor's Degree. Preferred (but not necessary): Master's Degree; professional certifications in project management or technical competencies. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage priorities. Effective problem solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions. Meeting facilitation and presentation skills. Good mix of editorial, design, business, and technical understanding.
Duties:
- The Site Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating site changes and communicating progress to stakeholders and site production departments.
- The Coordinator will work across departments and help to ensure that changes across all areas of the site including site development projects, video player iterations, product development initiatives, international edition changes, marketing requests, ad sales deals, Special Reports, and breaking news are prioritized and completed according to business needs.
- The Site Development Coordinator will manage small to mid-size site changes on the site and ensure that communication occurs between various departments that are responsible for implementation, design, and editorial aspects of changes.
- The Coordinator will monitor changes implemented on CNN.com to ensure they are consistent with similar aspects of the site so that editorial and usability standards are maintained.
- The Coordinator will assist with measuring traffic and user feedback when changes are made to ensure the desired effect (e.g. more page views) is achieved.
- The Coordinator will also assist Site Development department with other projects as needed.
