Job description
Attenex is looking for a talented Senior Usability Designer with experience in the visual and functional design of enterprise software applications or complex web sites. This candidate will have the opportunity to do work and create user guidelines for our next generation product. The ideal candidate will have experience in executing on building out a user design comp that is highly polished, which communicates a visual articulation of the user experience. This senior level UI Design professional should have 5+ years of user interface design experience and working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows environment to join a cutting edge team of specialists who turn around problem projects and create new complex infrastructure applications. The ideal candidate would also have experience researching and developing user interfaces for the legal or compliance markets, understanding of complex information discovery process, 5+ years user research experience, and familiarity with Agile (Scrum) methodology.
Qualifications:
- Primary role is to lead interaction analysis and user-centered design for an entire release.
- Proactively oversee all designs and specifications being created for specified release; give feedback on all UI and usability work supporting that release.
- Responsible for creating high-quality, innovative user-centered designs that meet the needs of all stakeholders, including the business and technology
- Working knowledge of user research techniques and tools, such as human-centered design, user observation, personas, and process analysis.
- Excellent skills in UI / visualization design, software product design, and excellent technical judgment
- Ability to create interactive prototypes
- Ability to develop and maintain the group design processes and documentation
- Excellent professional communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to guide/contribute to improving the software product development process
- Highly organized to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and flexible enough to respond quickly to critical issues
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical staff and departments
- Stay abreast of new UX industry practices standards and trends, as well as current user research information
- Ability to perform competitive UI analysis & present to team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in design, research, or related field (e.g., social sciences, anthropology, or applied psychology)
- 5+ years user interface design experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment
- Facility with standard design tools (Photoshop, Visio, etc.)
Bonus points:
- Experience researching and developing user interfaces for the legal or compliance markets
- Understanding of complex information discovery processes
- 5+ years user research experience
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
