Summary
UX Design Leads help scope, lead and deliver Blueprint and Solution Assembly projects. These accomplished UX designers are capable of leading teams of 4-5 people, providing both technical mentoring and estimating the tasks of that team. They interact with the client at the Director level. UX Design Leads contribute to business development efforts by providing input for SOW's and Proposals, and participating in RFP development.
UX knowledge & skills:
- 6+ years experience as an information architect, front-end developer, usability engineer, interaction designer and/or UI visual designer; 2+ years in leadership roles
- Hands-on skills with and/or understanding of the importance of visual design and brand identity to Rich Internet applications and web sites
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary UX teams to perform or develop any or all of these: user profiles and personas, information architectures and taxonomies, user task scenarios, wireframes, prototypes, style guides, usability test scripts, usability test sessions, usability test analyses
- Successful experience collaborating and working with Designers, IAs, Front-End Developers and Technologists to achieve the best balance between user needs, enterprise requirements and technology constraints
- Able to recognize and communicate UX patterns, code solutions and innovations to development teams and clients
Consulting experience:
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills demonstrated by the ability to facilitate group discussions and lead client requirement activities such as business analyses, task analyses, and creative workshops
- Lead or conduct user requirements activities such as ethnographic studies, interviews, focus groups, design workshops, and usability tests
- Ability to translate user requirements artifacts such as wireframes and prototypes into functional specifications for development teams
- Expert level experience in analyzing business goals and metrics, understanding users and usability best practices while maintaining client's brand direction
- Well developed project management skills: estimating work, project planning and tracking, risk analysis and scope control

- Willing to travel to client location as required.
Technical skills:
- Hands-on proficiency with:
- DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Creating Web-ready graphics in Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Gimp, or Inkscape
- MS-Office of Open Office, including PowerPoint or Impress
- Visio, Omnigraffle or other flow-charting applications
- Working knowledge of technologies such as Ajax, XML, Flash, PHP, Java
- Other useful skills:
- Test-recording software such as Morae or Camtasia
- Online survey tools such as Survey Monkey, Websort, or Optimal Sort
