Job description
Are you a guru at designing workflows that enable users to quickly and efficiently complete complex tasks with large amounts of data? Do you like tackling complex information and application design problems? Do you prefer to experience the full spectrum of design tasks (conceptualization, user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and mockup development) rather than working on only one?
As Sr. User Interface Designer (and multi-hat wearer), you'll work on a critical application that will be used across the entire company. You'll be involved throughout the process, including interviewing business owners and user users to gather and define requirements, designing and mocking up alternatives, conducting user testing, and consulting throughout implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Proven track record (and accompanying portfolio) for translating business requirements and use cases into highly usable and innovative web-based applications.
- Understanding of web-based design and the implications of dynamic interface design.
- Evangelizing core usability constructs and design principles.
- Integrating feedback from multiple sources to improve design and building consensus on design decisions.
- Taking initiative to create a best-in-class user experience.
- Experience/educated in Prototyping visual design concepts via visual design tools such as Photoshop or Illustrator.
- Creating style and usability guidelines.
- Experience working with product managers and technical leads.
- Proven experience working with mock-ups and story boards utilizing HTML
- Creating designs that use CSS-based, tableless layouts is a plus.
- Pluses: Cross browser, cross platform knowledge of CSS and XHTML: JavaScript and AJAX technologies. Experience working on CRM (Siebel, SalesForce, PeopleSoft, etc.) applications is a huge plus!
- Must be able to provide URL to portfolio as part of application.
