In 2008 the company anticipates hiring 200+ additional employees, including an User Interface Designer. Relocation assistance is available.
We are seeking a User Interface Designer to join our growing Requirements group in the Product Development department. The designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to assess requirements and develop UI designs that promote patient safety, ease of use, and an optimal user experience. The designer will create wireframes, user task and interaction flows, UI sketches, prototypes, and will prepare and maintain UI design specifications that will be used as blueprints for development. In addition, the designer will conduct design reviews and provide consultation during various phases of the product development life cycle.
Required qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Interaction Design or equivalent field of study. Advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design, or other related discipline is preferred.
- At least 3 years of industry experience designing GUIs, preferably for commercial desktop software applications.
- Demonstrable experience with appropriate design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Visio, and others.
- Experience with usability and user-centered design techniques, demonstrating knowledge of task analysis, wireframing, and documenting workflow.
- Experience with internationalization and localization design considerations.
- Understanding of design standards and benchmarking.
- Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills working within cross-functional teams.
- Experience designing solutions for healthcare consumers is a plus.
- A portfolio of design samples is required.
