Lead Information Architect

Description
Advantis Global is working with an outstanding company in Minneapolis that has a permanent opportunity available for a Lead Information Architect.
Qualifications:
- Four or more years of experience as an Information Architect on large content-oriented websites.
- Two or more years of experience influencing the strategic direction of websites, either with an agency or in-house
- Four or more years of experience defining the organization and labeling schemes for websites
- Experience working with business line partners and other stakeholders to facilitate discussion of website goals & objectives.
- Proven ability to produce storyboards, page flows, site maps, wireframes, and other documentation that communicates the user’s experience of interacting with a website. Please bring a portfolio.
- Ability to understand user tasks/needs, and leverage that knowledge in your deliverables.
- Ability to coordinate and address business goals/objectives and user needs in your proposed designs.
- Ability to present and walk through deliverables so that both business and technology partners can understand and provide feedback.
- Understanding of the principles of user centered design (UCD)
- Proven ability to coordinate the work of peers on large projects
- Ability to mentor/coach less experienced Information Architects
- Ability to do project planning
- Ability to establish user experience methodology, processes, estimates, and artifacts for a project or application
- Competency with software tools such as Visio, Word, and Excel is a must.
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Design, Interactive Design, HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, Fine Arts, Library Science or related area is preferred.
- Experience working with large websites or in the financial services industry is a plus
- Competency with Photoshop, Homesite, Dreamweaver, or other prototyping tools is a plus
- Experience with content management systems such as Vignette or Interwoven is a plus
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the user experience lead on internal project teams, with responsibility for ensuring projects meets U.S. Bancorp’s enterprise standards while satisfying user desires
- Lead by example with the use of U.S. Bank’s process and design methodologies
- Estimate and plan for small to large scale project engagements
- Ability to prioritize design issues and work efforts
- Mentor and train less experienced staff in the practice of Information Architecture
- Help plan, conduct and manage usability tests and other user research
- Assist in the ongoing definition of U.S. Bank’s evolving user experience standards
- Help develop low fidelity and interactive prototypes for end user usability testing
- Work with project managers and developers to influence the product based on user feedback received during field studies or usability tests
- Manage relationships and build consensus with project teams, vendors and business line partners
- Report project status to UXP management and project managers
- Represent U.S. Bank in a positive and professional manner internally and externally at all times
